Overview

An experienced Commercial Tanker Operations Manager with over 35 years of experience in the Maritime industry. Abhay has held a diverse portfolio of functionalities including Team leadership and Company Management.

Abhay has been successfully running his Consultancy, Aaudaz Maritime, since 2018 through which he shares his expertise and industry knowledge with his clients. Aaudaz offers a range of services, both in Singapore and globally. These include Commercial and Pool operation consultancy, Ship inspections, STS consultancy, Hull cleaning in Panama, Brazil, Suez and Singapore, bunker surveys in over 45 countries and oily waste and bunker disposal in/off Singapore, India and China.
A Founder member of FR8 and subsequently Navig8 in 2004, Abhay was catalyst in developing its operational strategies, including the recruitment processes, vendor management and Pool management. Recognized as the brand representation for the business and a Global Head of Operations, Abhay was unequivocally significant in the Business Development.  Having worked and collaborated with Global organizations in the Maritime sector, Abhay is a familiar name with industry representatives for understanding trade peculiarities across the globe. As Global Head of Tanker Operations at Navig8, his key focus was to formulate, implement and enhance corporate polices and processes. This resulted in Navig8 evolving from an Operator of 5 vessels to a peak of over 250. The acquisition transition from FR8 to Navig8 propelled Abhay to take on an expanded portfolio resulting in full employee retention. Abhay played a strategic part within the Management that saw the re-branding of the organization including the addition of the Chemical and Dry Bulk vessels into its fleet. Abhay had started his career ashore with Tanker Pacific Management as a Senior Operations superintendent for their MR fleet.

Following an illustrious career spanning over 30-years, Abhay enjoys leading and navigating change within dynamic environments, challenging the norms and pushing boundaries for greater levels of achievements. Some of these include starting up businesses, managing multi-cultural teams across global offices and negotiating multi-million dollar vendor contracts. Abhay believes in motivating through positive thinking, encouraging and supporting his team through an active involvement and systems support. An avid runner, Abhay has participated in two full Marathons in Singapore, besides Cycle Challenges. He is an animal activist, working with a few local groups. He also enjoys gardening and Yoga.
